About the Club
Lillington Free Church Table Tennis Club was born in September 1972. A club had been started at Lillington Middle School the previous September and nine ex-pupils (eight girls and one boy) formed the original club. One of the founder members, Rachel Mackriell, went on to become Warwickshire and Hampshire Ladies Champion and played for England Schools. The following year Lynne Brison joined the club, eventually becoming Warwickshire Ladies Champion too.
Boys soon showed they were around and David Matthews, Stuart Kurle and Mark Williams all attained England rankings.
The club's most successful player is one of its more recent members. Kelly Sibley, daughter of Lynne Brison, who at the age of seventeen represented England in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia before going on to become the number one lady on the England ranking list.
Lillington Free Church Table Tennis Club is very much a family club and encourages players of all abilities. Whilst we are justifiably proud of the achievements of the club, loyalty is the quality we cherish most.
